Born on January 21, 1968, in Woodville South, a vibrant suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, Steven Marshall's journey of resilience and determination has shaped him into the influential figure he is today.
From an early age, Steven displayed a thirst for knowledge and personal growth. He attended Ethelton Primary School and Immanuel College before embarking on a journey of higher education at the South Australian Institute of Technology, now known as the University of South Australia. His commitment to continuous learning led him to pursue an MBA at Durham University in the United Kingdom, expanding his global perspective and honing his leadership skills.
In 1997, when his father retired from running the family business, Marshall Furniture, Steven fearlessly took on the role of managing director. His visionary approach and commitment to inclusivity led Marshall Furniture to win the South Australian small business prize in the national 2001 Employer of the Year awards, thanks to their dedication to hiring individuals with disabilities.
Recognized for his outstanding contributions to the disability sector, Steven Marshall was honored with the prestigious Centenary of Federation Medal in 2001, a testament to his compassion and unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in people's lives.
Steven's passion for public service grew stronger over time, prompting him to join the Liberal Party in 2007.
